Airbnb vs Booking vs Agoda vs Vrbo: where do you book your accommodation?

I see more and more nomads complaining about Airbnb fees getting crazy expensive, but I personally still haven't found a better alternative that I find overwhelmingly better.

So, I was curious: where have you personally found the best deals or overall value for money?

How do you usually check prices across these platforms?

Have you ever had the listing not live up to the photos/description?

And did you experience any frustrations like surprise fees or last-minute cancellations?
