I’m about to embark on my first trip to the Philippines, specifically Siargao, and I’m both excited and a bit nervous about the food scene there. As someone who’s never tried Filipino cuisine before, I’m wondering if the food is actually any good and whether they do have any healthy options (not looking for street food).
I see many people saying that Filipino food can be a bit unhealthy while if you go on Youtube, there are a ton of videos like this one that says that is actually one of the most unappreciated cuisine in the world.
Not sure what to believe at this point as sometimes Youtube videos tend to avoid offending other cuisines, so I thought to ask your experience.
If you can, it would also be good to get a general idea of prices for local food (I know Western food would obviously be more expensive, so I’m asking about local dishes specifically).
